			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hey everyone, after receiving a lot of emails recently as to whether this website is still functioning, I thought I&#8217;d give an update as to what is going on.</p>
<p>Do not worry, I have not given up, I can&#8217;t be stopped that easily. For those that don&#8217;t know, I have a shoulder injury that I seemed to have got during a cricket match (fast bowling is suicide on the joints). I am having some expert physiotherapy done on it next week and will finally get it fully and properly diagnosed. I will keep you updated on how that all goes.</p>
<p>My current plans are:</p>
<ul>
<li>Let the shoulder heal</li>
<li>Let the shoulder heal</li>
<li>Do some gentle exercises to strengthen the shoulder</li>
<li>Let the shoulder heal</li>
<li>Let the shoulder heal</li>
</ul>
<p>To avoid another shoulder injury happening and stunting my progress with bodybuilding, I have to let the shoulder heal. Once it has fully recovered I will restart my challenge.</p>
<p>Now, until next week, I cannot give any details as to how long it will take to recover etc, but I am aware that shoulder injuries can sometimes take months and even years to recover. I don&#8217;t think it is serious enough for it to be taking months to recover so hopefully I will be up and running before the start of september.</p>

I had a check up with the sports doctor today and I have been told that I should stay off the workouts for at least a month in order for my shoulder to heal to full strength. I am extremely reluctant to do so but it looks like I may be presented with no other choice. I will try my leg workout tomorrow and see how that goes. I will keep you updated in the next few days as to what is going on with my situation. If it turns out that I have to stay off the workouts for a month then so be it. In that case, I will restart the challenge when I&#8217;m ready and restart the clock (a new Day 1).</p>

Injuries, revising for exams, having a busy day to keep up with is all part of the challenge. It is what makes the situation normal instead of it being the ideal bodybuilding situation - which is very rare for most people. It will be interesting to see how this goes now with the extra work I&#8217;m having to do in the day and due to the shoulder injury.</p>

The pain crept up today during my workout when I was completing my bench presses. I am going to have to take a couple of weeks off the shoulder workouts and let it recover. No, this does not mean I am stopping, far from it, it just means I will not train my shoulders (which sucks as they play a huge role in the overall shape of the body). I will try and implement some light rotator cuff exercises during the week in order to bring them back to health as soon as possible.</p>
<p>Bad news out of the way, here are the stats:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>HEIGHT</strong> - 5 feet 11 inches / 181 cm</li>
<li><strong>WEIGHT</strong> - 62.6 kg (+2.4)/ 138 lbs (+6)</li>
<li><strong>BODY FAT %</strong> - 8.7 (+0.7)</li>
<li><strong>BODY WATER %</strong> - 63.7 (-0.1)</li>
<li><strong>MUSCLE MASS</strong> - 54.3 kg (+1.8)/ 119.8 lbs (+4.0) (Physical Rating - 7 - Thin)</li>
<li><strong>BONE MASS</strong> - 2.9 kg (+0.1)/ 6.4 lbs (+0.2) (WTF?)</li>
<li><strong>MINIMUM ENERGY REQUIRED (BMR)</strong> - 1704 kcal (+54)/ 7128 kJ (+224)</li>
<li><strong>METABOLIC AGE</strong> - 12  <img class="wp-smiley" src="http://www.muscleupdate.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /></li>
<li><strong>VISCERAL FAT RATING</strong> - 1 (out of a possible 59 - I have the lowest possible rating)</li>
</ul>
<p>So there&#8217;s the stats, the weight is steadily increasing. Hopefully this shoulder injury will recover quickly and won&#8217;t slow down the progress too much (even though almost every workout involves the shoulders in some way). I&#8217;m going to give it ice/heat treatment for this week and see if that helps.</p>

Now, I must decide if I should go to sleep early today and wake up early in the morning tomorrow (5AM - EEK!) in order to complete my workout before school begins giving me more time in the afternoon to revise for exams (ideals never work this way though). I&#8217;ll decide tonight what shall happen tomorrow (that means in the next hour if I am to wake up at 5AM to workout tomorrow morning.</p>
<p>The stats tell me that whilst my weight hasn&#8217;t changed significantly (0.2lbs heavier), I have lost 0.7% fat and gained 1.2lbs of pure muscle mass since yesterday which is good to know. I will post my full stats tomorrow for you all to see as tomorrow is the start of Week 2.</p>

Well, Monday is school so that&#8217;s not exactly rest (bodybuilding for the mind). I only have 4 weeks till my GCSE exams start (O levels, GCSE, whatever you call them in the country you are sitting in - exams taken at the age of 16). This is going to make my bodybuilding routine and diet very hard to keep up with but I&#8217;m determined to make it all work. I might try and do my workouts in the morning before school to try and fit in bodybuilding and exam preparation. Anyway, I&#8217;ll worry about that on Monday.</p>
<p>I checked my stats again today and I have put on another pound of muscle since yesterday. That puts me at 136 pounds in comparison to 132 pounds on Day 1. I&#8217;m not going to bother copying in the stats again as I&#8217;m going to do that tomorrow anyway - Sunday is going to be stats update / date proof and video day. Don&#8217;t know about making a video tomorrow but in general, it will probably be on Sundays that I post one. I&#8217;m going to go and get some good recovery time now (also known as sleep). Yes, they are sore, but not as sore as I thought they&#8217;d get, in fact, I even went for a nice walk (how interesting). The worst part of the walk was actually walking back with the groceries - not so kind to my other muscles which are still extremely sore.</p>
<p>Anyway, more important news, the diet and workouts are making a difference which is a huge relief as I was getting worried that nothing was happening. Whilst there isn&#8217;t much noticeable visible difference (body is the same, underwear is new but looks the same, and my hair is a couple of millimeters longer), according to the stats I have increased in weight since yesterday (muscle mass) meaning I am now 3 pounds heavier than I was on Day 1.</p>
<p>Here are the stats: (I need to lose the habit of being obsessed with these - but NO!)</p>

Anyway, in terms of my extremely high calorie diet, I am starting to get used to it, in comparison to Day 1 where I felt extremely bloated and sick.</p>
<p>I took my stats again to see if there were any changes. I&#8217;ve included a &#8220;+&#8221; and a &#8220;-&#8221; to indicate how the new stats compare to Day 1 stats. Here they are:</p>

Today was a non-workout day but after yesterday&#8217;s intense workout my muscles are extremely sore. However, as they say, &#8220;NO PAIN, NO GAIN!&#8221; Cheesy I know but it&#8217;s true when it comes to bodybuilding, as long as it isn&#8217;t the pain of your shoulder joint popping. I think I am safe for now, I didn&#8217;t have any extreme shoulder pain during yesterdays workout and the only shoulder pain I am having is muscle soreness which is a relief considering my previous sports injuries. If pain does occur I will get the shoulder checked up and may have to create a new workout for myself which puts less stress on my shoulder joints. HOWEVER, so far, everything is GOOD. I&#8217;m already getting used to the high calorie intake and the water overdose. My next workout is tomorrow so I expect not being able to walk and crawling along the floor for the next few days, possibly army style (learnt from RAF cadet training - HELL YEAH!) I&#8217;ll speak to you all again tomorrow.</p>
